Tom Flynn, Shihan is the Director and Head Instructor of the Green Mountain Dojo. He is also a North American Executive Adviser for the World So-Kyokushin Organization.
Flynn Shihan's karate training began with Judo in 1969 and Kyokushin Karate in 1971. Early teachers included Lee Gity Shihan, Tadashi Nakamura Shihan and Richard Arrighi Sensei. He has also studied with Robert Blaisdell Shihan, the late Dan Duffy Sensei, and extensively with Bobby Lowe Shihan. In 1992, Sosai Masutatsu Oyama appointed Flynn a United States Branch Chief and personally presented him with his IKO Branch Chief contract and certificate.
Teaching since 1980, Flynn Shihan currently holds the rank of Nanadan; 7th Degree Black Belt, certified through the World So-Kyokushin Organization of Japan. He also holds yudansha grades in judo, aikido and kobudo.
Toni Flynn, Shihan is the Assistant Director and instructor of the Green Mountain Dojo. She currently holds the rank of Godan; 5th degree black belt. She began her training in Kyokushin Karate in 1983 in Massachusetts under the late Dan Duffy Sensei and Tom Flynn (Sempai at that time).
Flynn Shihan enjoys conducting self-defense workshops and is the creator of the "Fit & Feisty Women's Fitness & Everyday Self-Protection" class. She has had the opportunity to train and teach at dojo worldwide including Japan, Romania, Belgium, England, and throughout the US and Canada.
